IDA Chairman Meets Obour Investors Association

IDA Chairman, held a meeting on 18/5/2009 with Al-Obour Investors Association's members, headed by Mostafa Al Salab, with the presence of Chairman of the City bureau, Eng. Mohamed. Yousri Abdel A'al & Deputy-Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Al Morshedy. This came Within the framework of solving investor's problems in all governorates & new cities & enhancing relationships between both the private & public sectors. During the meeting, IDA Chairman reviewed the new facilities IDA presents to the investors.

IDA Chairman pointed out that the factories established in Al-Obour city under the 1000-Factory Program had reached 11 factories & 40 expansions, in addition to 503 factories under construction.

Moreover, IDA Chairman affirmed that the Prime Minister had approved on allocating an industrial area of 12.000 feddan , indicating that 50% of the lands allocated for industrial activities in the new cities were not exploited yet, which led the Ministry of Trade & Industry to redistribute the ex-allocated lands & cancel the allocation of more than 284 projects on an area of 2.7 million M2 due to the investors' lack of seriousness.

IDA Chairman also reviewed the new facilities IDA presents to the investors such as:

  • The investor's getting approval of approximately 90% of the industrial projects within an hour.
  • Concerning the lands offered by IDA within the 2nd stage, Eng. IDA Chairman responded to the association's demand of submitting the lands' applications to the association & then to IDA.
  • IDA's preparation for issuing building licenses within 2 weeks, instead of 6 months .
  • Concerning the operation license, IDA is cooperating with cities bureaus to issue temporarily operation license & industrial register within 15 days, which will be valid for one year & can be renewed another year.
  • Concerning the unified law of industry, the Ministry will consider investors' suggestions by which the low of the industrial & commercial stores will be abolished.
  • Within 3 months, IDA will open a new branch in Al-Obour city to facilitate procedures.
