IDA Chairman, Eng. Ismail Najdi & the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Chairman, General Hamdy Waheba, had inaugurated on 25/10/2011 the 1st Industrial Integration Exhibition for the engineering industries in 6th of October City ;organized in the headquarters of the Industrial Engineering Co. .This event was organized by the Engineering Industries Department at 6th of October Investors Association, headed by Mr. Safwan Thabet. This come within the framework of enhancing the local manufacturing of the Egyptian factories.
20 Egyptian companies had participated in the Exhibition, which are specialized in the fields of auto components, machines of manufacturing cement bricks, electric generators, distributors, capacitators, household appliances & more.
Eng. Ismail Najdi stated that the Exhibition was organized with the aim of overcoming obstacles faces the local manufacturing in Egypt & this Exhibition is considered a good chance for the direct communication between senior producers & automotive small parts manufacturers, so as to achieve integration between them, instead of importing these products.
In addition, Eng Najdi affirmed that Minister of Industry & Foreign Trade pays a great attention to encourage & support organizing such exhibitions which helps Egyptian producers in displaying their products & signing agreements with large factories to supply auto components. Moreover, IDA Chairman pointed out that both the Ministry & IDA will provide all supports necessary for organizing such exhibitions in all cities & different industrial sectors.
The Exhibition concluded with many recommendations, the most important of which are:
- Claiming for directing the priority of the government tenders to the products of the increased local manufacturing share.
- Necessity of creating a database that includes the factories actual needs & type of trained labor.
- Necessity of organizing such integrated exhibitions for manufacturers in all industrial cities & sectors.
- Stress monitoring on custom duties reduction which are allocated only for serious manufacturers.
- Reviewing & developing the method of calculating the local manufacturing percentages.
- Ministry of Industry & Foreign Trade is to adopt the AOI's project of producing all internal components & equipments of railway vehicles.
