IDA
Chairman attended a meeting in 25/2/2009 with
the members of Businessmen Association in Alex. The
meeting was held by the committee of industry and urban
communities in the association chaired by Eng. Moheb
Soleman to discuss the problems of Governorate's
investors and present suitable solutions.
IDA Chairman displayed the facilities presented to
manufacturers; the first stage of these facilities
includes the 65% increase in the construction percentage
without any additional burdens on the investor. The
second stage encompasses the approval of 565 industries
as soon as the invertors propose to obtain it. IDA
issued 332 approvals with LE5.1 billion investments and
43.2 thousand expected job opportunities.
Concerning the financial crisis, IDA Chairman pointed out that the
recent step taken by the government to overcome the
financial crisis was the presidential decree of modifying
some custom tariffs by exempting the engineering and
chemical industries from 250 custom terms. In addition to
decreasing the energy prices of glass, ceramic and chemical
industries.
IDA Chairman announced that the agricultural manufacturing
project will be offered to the investors next April in order
to raise the domestic agricultural product from LE55 billion
to LE113 billion. Regarding the action plan of the project,
300.000 feddans will be divided into 60 agricultural
industrial zones; each zone covers an area of 5000 feddans.
The first phase will include Kom Aumbo 220.000 feddans –
Wadi El Natroon 63.000 feddans.
In the Respect of IDA's activity at Alex in the field of industrial land allocation,
IDA Chairman explained that 3.2 million m2 were allocated to 311 projects in Borg Al Arab; 80 projects are under construction, 192 projects in the phase of the guarantee letter, and 39 projects weren't implemented.
