 Within the framework of the President Mubarak's electoral program for establishing 1000 factories and supporting Upper Egypt governorates, Eng. Amr Assal, IDA Chairman accompanied by Nabil El Azaby, Assuit Governor and high officials in Coca Cola Company opened new Coca Cola factory on Wednesday 20 / 5 /2009. The factory is established at Assuit in Arab Al Awamer zone on an area of 100.000 m2 with LE200 million investments providing 600 job opportunities.
Assal stated that despite the repercussions of the world financial crisis, the international companies still invest in Egypt. Upper Egypt governorates were granted LE538 million out of LE1.1 billion spent on developing the industrial zones nationwide within the last two years. Assuit got LE135 million to establish 20 industrial projects during the last period with LE364 million investments in Assuit, Assal added.
Al Azaby pointed out that this project will add to the national economy as the number of projects in Assuit before the support was 216 projects with LE1 billion investments but after the support it became 636 projects with LE1.4 billion investments.
On the other hand, the factory opening was attended by the representatives of GAFI, IDA, National Party, Assuit governorate, and the Egyptian industry and investment leaders.
