Chairman of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), accompanied by Abdel Rahman Salah, Chairman of New & Renewable Energy Authority, and Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Siag El Sewedy Towers Set on Wednesday 3/12/2008 the foundation stone of the first complex for producing components of generating electricity from wind with Egyptian – German investments LE1.3 billion providing 1750 job opportunities and covering an area of 600.000 m2 in Ain Sukhna.
The project consists of 3 phases; the current phase encompasses a factory for producing wind turbine towers, the second is a factory for wind turbine wings while the third is for turbines. The project is established in cooperation with German, Chinese and Spanish companies. 50% of the complex production will be exported to the European and African markets.
The first factory will produce wind towers with LE320 million investments covering an area of 250.000 m2 and providing 500 jobs. The second is for wind turbine wings covering an area of 250.000 m2 and the third for turbines on an area of 100.000 m2 with LE250 million investments starting in the next quarter of 2010, Ahmed El Sewedy stated.
