During the participation of Chairman of IDA, in the celebration made by General Motors (GM) Corporation on Wednesday 19-5-2010, he stated that the promotion of the technical trained labors besides providing utilities and infrastructure are the most important Egyptian Industrial basis. The celebration was for the graduation of the 1st class of the training program from technical training center in automotive maintenance.
The center is the first in Egypt, established by the cooperation of the Industrial Training Council, General Motors, Mansour Automotive. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Medhat Madani, the executive director of ITC and Mr. Ragif Shaba, the chairman of GM Egypt and the management director.
IDA Chairman stated in his word that GM has increased its production in Egypt during the last years from 20 thousand automotives to 50 thousand automotive this year indicating that the Ministry of Trade and Industry intends to apply an intergraded Strategy for automotive industry in Egypt aiming to produce 600 thousand cars in 2020.
For his side, Shaba, Chairman of Egypt GM, expressed his happiness that Gm got the trust that its customers are dealing with technical trainees enjoy the basic skills. The company supervised on their training 18 months with an investment from Canada for their training $650.000, the ITC participating with 80% of the center operation center and 20% by Mansour Automotive Company.
