 IDA Chairman, Amr Assal, and GAFI Chairman, Assem Ragab opened on Sunday 29/6/2008, IDA main branch at GAFI headquarters in order to facilitate the registration procedures in the industrial registry and provide all IDA's services for industrial projects through the "one stop shop" at Cairo Investment Services Complex.
Assal stated that this office is considered IDA's 1st main branch in Cairo to offer services according to the investment laws (No. 8 / 1997 and No. 159 / 1989) subject to the industrial registry Law No. 24 / 1977 and its modified executive statute. This comes within the framework of IDA's 3-year strategic plan to expand its services by establishing 33 branches and offices.
The new branch will grant approvals of establishing the industrial projects accredited in governorates; the initial & final approvals and land allocation for setting up these projects in new cities; in addition to reserving industrial units in the small industries' complexes, Assal explained. Regarding the industrial registry, the new branch will issue the registration certificate in the industrial registry for the 1st time; issue, renew and modify the temporary industrial registry he said, adding that it will receive and solve investors' complaints.
