IDA Chairman, revealed that IDA gave the priority of obtaining the reallocated lands to the existing factories (the 3 phases of the special offer). He added that the announcements about new lands are sent to the investors associations. Moreover, most of the proposals of the existing factories' expansions at 6th of October City were handled… 90% of the projects submitted to IDA obtain the approvals within an hour and the rest of the projects take some time because they are energy-intensive projects and their approvals need the approval of the Supreme Council of Energy,
IDA Chairman pointed out.
IDA Chairman explained that LE1 billion and LE275 million were pumped in 30 industrial zones inside 24 governorates in Upper Egypt and Delta. 50% of the presented subsidy was for Upper Egypt, 27% for Delta, 13% for Suez Canal, 1.5% for Sinai, and 8.5% for Great Cairo.
This came in IDA Chairman's meeting with the Association of 6th of October City Investors, headed by Dr Mohamed Al Monufy on Sunday 18/10, to solve their problems and answer their demands.
Furthermore, IDA Chairman said that the industrial developers' zones in 6th of October City started the production and there are 95 factories are under construction out of which some started the production and the rest will start the production gradually up till 2011.
IDA Chairman stated that the investor who obtains an industrial land for 3years or more gets a temporary industrial registry in case of completing the building on 25% of the total land area and buying the required equipments. IDA continues to deal with the investor after the inspection without a guarantee letter until he finishes his problems with the Civil Defense.
Moreover, IDA Chairman advised the businessmen and the investors not to sign the industrial land receiving minutes if there are any obstacles like sands that impede the building. And the investor has to start paying the premiums from the actual date of receiving the lands.
Every investor gets a 50% discount on the guarantee letter if he receives lands without any utilities. In 2011, IDA's offices all over the country including the office of 6th of October Governorate will finish all the procedures necessary for obtaining the approvals and permits without turning to IDA Headquarters,
IDA Chairman added.
Regarding the policy of fighting the industrial lands speculation,
IDA Chairman said that IDA adopted a new "tough" policy that provoked 2774 projects to continue the work; in addition 2300 projects took new deadline. Moreover, the investor, who built on 5% of the total land area, was granted a two year deadline. In case of prolonging the deadline, the value of the guarantee letter increases to ensure the seriousness. This policy led to revitalizing 3600 land plots on an area of 16 million m2.
