IDA Chairman, witnessed in lieu of  Minister of Trade and Industry, on Tuesday 29/6/2010, the completion of the constructional works of one of the major complexes for baby diapers in 6th of October City. It is planned to be one of the three largest baby diapers factories in the world. The new factory's investments reached nearly $140 million, providing 560 job opportunities, in addition 40% of its production is directed to the local market and 60% is for the exportation.

IDA Chairman pointed out that the factory has an expansion plan aims at increasing the project's investments to reach $2 billion by 2020. This comes within the ministry's plan to double the Egyptian exports to reach LE200 billion which requires LE70 billion investments, he confirmed.  

IDA Chairman stated that this factory is one of the new factories that are established recently in the Turkish Industrial Zone Polaris with the industrial developer system on an area of 2 million m2. It is planned to establish 72 factories with  LE3.2 billion investments. Moreover, 80% of the infrastructure works were completed inside the zone.

The number of the industrial zones that are previously offered in the three phases with the industrial developer system and are under construction, reached 12 zones and is expected to attract 845 factories on an area of 16.3 million m2 with LE24.7 billion and provide 117000 job opportunities, IDA Chairman added.

Furthermore, 7 factories started production, in addition to 14 new one will enter the production phase by the end of the current year in the 6th of October City in the sectors of engineering industries, automotive spare parts, and construction, ceramics and painting materials. Their investments reached LE2.8 billion, providing 12000 job opportunities, beside 24 factories under foundation, 42 one obtained lands and their architectural drawings are currently prepared.
