IDA Chairman, inaugurated the Cairo International Medical Devices Conference (CIMDC) on June 29th, 2009, organized by IDA with the partnership of IMC (The Industrial Modernization Center), adopting the slogan: Egypt-GlobalPartner4Business. The conference was attended by representatives of 37 foreign companies &77 Egyptian ones.
IDA Chairman pointed out that the conference had covered many points such as reviewing the medical equipment & supplies sector strategy prepared by the Ministry of Trade & Industry, the enhancement of investor awareness of Egypt's competitiveness in this sector, displaying of success stories of Egypt leading domestic and international companies in the sector, announcing the regulatory reforms for product registration and factory licensing, in addition to highlighting the expansion of social health insurance coverage to the whole population.
IDA Chairman said that this conference came within achieving the Ministry's strategy that aims at attracting both Arab & foreign capital to the various medical sectors, especially the healthcare sector. In addition,
IDA Chairman clarified that the medical devices sector is considered one of the industrial sectors that the Ministry is working on developing & improving its quality.
