IDA has announced that next Thursday, August 20, is the final deadline to collect the Tender Conditions and Specifications Booklets for applying for continuous casting steel billet production licenses. The tender comprises eight (8) licenses with a total annual production capacity of up to 2.8 million tons. IDA invites all interested companies and investors to collect the booklets from IDA Main Headquarters at 42 El-Salam Axis, 5th Settlement, New Cairo.
IDA urges applicant companies to strictly adhere to the scheduled submission deadline for technical and financial bids. Bids must be delivered to IDA headquarters on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM (Noon) as the sole and final deadline, reiterating that any applications submitted prior to the launch of this tender will not be considered.
IDA emphasized that this tender executes the directives of Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, to reinforce value chains within the metallurgical sector and boost domestic billet capacity. This directly helps supply essential raw materials to national re-rolling mills, deepens local manufacturing, reduce the import gap to conserve foreign currency, elevates the investment environment and competitiveness of Egypt's iron and steel sector, and supports production and export expansion plans.
IDA highlighted that the tender offers varied production segments to accommodate diverse investment scales as it includes (4) Licenses with annual capacity of 500,000 tons per license, and (4) other Licenses with annual capacity of 200,000 tons per license.
IDA affirmed its full commitment to providing comprehensive facilitations, along with procedural and technical support, to ensure the success of winning projects and accelerate the start of commercial production.
